I am very very sorry and disappointed to go through this article, I am an office bearer of Konkani Christian Association, all the committee members worked hard for the success of this programme but the coverage was not good enough, the programme went on till evening 6 but the report is given was till 2 p.m. only. the cultural programme was performed by teenagers and children was not highlighted at all, we have to encourage children by giving a pat on the back. not like this pushing them to the corner Thank you, with a heavy heart.

from Konkani language Bangali, Marathi & Assamee languages extracted. Because of our konkani speaking people taken interest in English language over the years, by forgetting our ownself. Now we somehow woken up to rectify our mistake, but sooner or later still good. If we happen to meet konkani speaking person he starts to speak in English and when we ask him you do not know konkani, he says I born and brought up in Mumbai. Because of this tendency of our konkani speaking people we kept konkani language far off.

A very nice and well written article.
Though English is the Lingua Franca especially used between the north and south of India Konkani still is widely used and Konkani culture can be found all over the world where Konkani speaking people live and work.

The city-based Konkani Christian Association (KCA), in association with Gowda Saraswat Brahman Sabha, Rajapur Saraswath Brahman Sangh, Daivajna Brahman Samaj and Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy organized Konkani literary and cultural meet at Mathias High School auditorium here recently.
Lots of people met and they celebrated and spoke Konkani.
They got closer and the language and culture combines them and they have a meaning of life and meet for prayers and worship.
And Daijiworld regularly reports about Konkani and Konkani culture.
    Wonderful and thank you.

    Best regards

This is a right forum to find out the similarities in Cultural rituals and the differences or diversions we each Konkani Communities have taken from our common Fore Fathers.

It is also a right forum to introspect our Grand Parents experiment of mixing Eastern and Western Culture, and coming out with Cocktail culture, off which was alien to Eastern and Western Communities alike.
