After 1.2 mn flags sale in 2022, DoP launches I-Day 2023 ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign

Mumbai, Aug 2 (IANS): The Department of Posts here has launched the annual ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign 2.0 for Independence Day, 2023, an official said here on Wednesday.

The initiative was kick-started last year to mark the Amrit Mahotsav of India’s Independence and elicited a huge response from the people, said an official.

“Last year, DoP sold over 12 lakh (1.2 million) Tricolours in the Maharashtra Circle, which includes Goa,” said an official, saying this year the sales will be even more robust.

For this, the government and DoP has called upon all citizens to participate in the campaign by hoisting the National Flag in their homes, offices, societies, etc.

The DoP - which has been mandated as the agency for sale and distribution of quality Tricolours, measuring 20x30 inches each - will sell the National Flags to people at reasonable rates starting from Rs 25.

It has also appealed to various government, private, corporates, local bodies and other institutions as well as members of the public to contact them in advance for their requirements to ensure the supply of the National Flags in time before August 15.
