Anna Hazare-led Civil Society Activists Burn Copies of Lokpal Bill

Ghaziabad, Aug 4 (IANS): Civil society activists burnt copies of the government's version of the anti-graft Lokpal Bill here after it was introduced in parliament Thursday.

"We are not focusing only on the prime minister's inclusion in the Lokpal Bill. The bill is against the poor," civil society representative on the drafting committee Arvind Kejriwal told reporters in this satellite town of the Indian capital.

"We are following the Gandhian way of non-violent protest," he added.

Another civil society representative and lawyer, Prashant Bhushan said: "We are appealing that this is a symbolic opposition. No violent action should be taken after this protest in any part of the country."

I think some how we all should get invloved, namely the youth, Pvt organisations, transporters and protest strongly and peacefully. Put more pressure on the Governmnet and get the bill passed. Annaji dont give up ... the task will be easier for you as the P.M. has no problem in including his post under the lokpal bill.. let all of them come under the bill... as Pronob Roy pointed out against few thousands people cannot decide on India to implement the law.... the same statement holds good for them also...cause just because they got elected they cannot put themselves above the law ... and they too are few thousand only if put together.... so dont give Annaji, Mr. Hegde , Madam Kiran, and others .... you represent millions of Indians as the elected memebers of parliament and other dignitories and officers are for the masses not for these politicians...... Fight with support of P.M. and go on .... it may be little late than what we thought... it should come into force as soon as possible.... other wise thes few thousands of peoples representatvie in alliance with top businessmen and officers and law makers will take India to the ruins...

We are all inclined to judge ourselves by our ideals others, by their acts. It’s a thousand times easier to criticize than create. That's why critics are never problem solvers. Any fool can criticize, condemn & complain. Don't be faultfinding. If a mirror is dusty, you need a duster to clean it. But if your eyes have a cataract, any amount of dusting will not help. So first you have to remove the cataract. Then you can see that the mirror is already clean.

“Don’t ever try to search for a good person in this twisted world. Instead try to make yourself the best because this act of yours may end somebody else’s search.”

Slowly people will loose intrest in this champaign if which is the intention of the Govt as to make this whole anti curruption chamaign worthless. At the end of the day it will be the politicans who will be having the last laugh.
