England Spinner Graeme Swann Fit for Edgbaston Test

London, Aug 5 (IANS): England spinner Graeme Swann has declared himself fit for the third Test at Edgbaston after initial scans suggested he might have broken a bone in his left hand while facing Praveen Kumar on the first day of the second Test at Trent Bridge.

Swann, however, said that another X-ray has shown no serious damage and ensured that he would be available for the match in Birmingham that begins Wednesday.

"I've had another X-ray on the hand just to check and it's not serious. There's a little bother in there but nothing to affect my preparations. It might affect my batting in the nets beforehand but that will just stop me facing a few bouncers from our boys," Swann was quoted as saying by the Daily Telegraph.

Jonathan Trott, who sustained a shoulder injury in the second Test, is also expected to recover in time for the match.

England will announce their squad Sunday and are likely to pick the same 12 for the third successive Test, with Chris Tremlett being the 12th man again.

India will be without injured Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh. Yuvraj suffered a broken finger while Harbhajan is down with an abdominal strain.
