Puttur, Aug 9: Dr K V Renuka Prasad, son of Kuruji Venkataramana Gowda, founder of KVG Group of Educational Institutions, was granted bail in the case relating to the murder of Prof A S Ramakrishna, administrative officer of KVG Medical College Sullia.

The policemen have accused Dr Prasad of planning the murder of Ramakrishna because of the grouse he nurtured against the deceased for the role allegedly played by Ramakrishna while bifurcating educational institutions between him and his elder brother. The policemen say that Dr Prasad strongly felt that injustice was met out to him during the bifurcation process.

The judge of the fast track sessions court here, Shivashankare Gowda, had heard arguments and counter arguments on the bail petition moved by Dr Renuka Prasad on August 6. On that day, the judge had announced that he would pronounce orders on the petition on Monday. The bail petition moved by Dr Prasad last month was rejected as the investigation had not been completed then. Till now, five persons including Dr Prasad have been arrested by the police for their alleged role in the murder.

The Sullia police had filed charge sheet in the case on August 5, and Dr Prasad’s bail petition was moved the next day. The advocates appearing for Dr Prasad argued that investigation in the case has been completed, charge sheet has been filed, and the only accused who was evading arrest, has since been arrested. They pleaded for bail, also sighting that Dr Prasad was suffering from health complications and is undergoing treatment under police vigil.

The court, which upheld these arguments, granted bail of three months to Dr Renuka Prasad. On behalf of Dr Prasad, advocates, K R Vidyadhar, Mahesh Kaje, Rajesh, and Prasad Kumar Rai had put forth their arguments.

According to an earlier article in Daiji regarding this story this man had planned to flee the country before his arrest. So the court must be giving him the opportunity to do so now after receiving his "blessings". Would a lesser mortal with lesser clout have managed to get this bail even if he was undergoing medical treatment?

This shows that our JUDICIAL LAWS are very weak.where is the justice to Prof A S Ramakrishna families?? and what about those police mens and other officers who tried hard to find out the criminals? It also shows that any rich person can commit a crime without the fear of law and can be freed in months after he is convicted.
    disgusting...

Money talks, criminal walks free. Is this is our system.

Many times even our police dept. is helpless due to the prevailing impotent mechanism and corrupt judiciary.

I won't be surprised both brothers will be joining hands with compromise solution and the victim family may not be getting justice.

Is this way our criminals are given bail & system continues, definitely we can call our culture & system is stinking.
