All Banks' Christian Employees Assn Celebrates 10 Years of Success

Mangalore, Aug 15: All Banks' Christian Employees Association (ABCEA) marked its 10th anniversary with a glittering ceremony at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee hall here on Sunday August 14.
The programme was presided over by Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza. Addressing the gathering, he lauded the efforts of ABCEA in uplifting the underprivileged section of the society by way of assisting them in education. He urged the gathering to give priority to the education of students who are not able to afford it, and said that parents must enourage their children and make them responsible citizens.
He also informed that the all the 160 parishes in the Mangalore diocese will build houses for poor families, and appealed to the ABCEA to support the cause.
Chairman of MCC Bank Melwyn D'Cunha lamented that the Catholic community was still lagging behind in the banking sector, though several new co-operative banks have been showing progress. He said that a merger between ABCEA and MCC Bank would help in achieving national and international growth.
Manu Bantwal, proprietor of Prime Land Real Estate released the ABCEA news bulletin on the occasion while Bishop D'Souza launched ABCEA's website www.abceamangalore.com.
Children of ABCEA employees who had achieved success in academics were felicitated on the occasion. Mr World Raymond D'Souza too was honoured in recognition of his achievements.
ABCEA deputy general manager John D'Souza also spoke on the occasion.
President of ABCEA Audy Rego welcomed the gathering while founder chairman and general secretary Marcel D'Souza outlined the decennial report.
Oswald Valento proposed the vote of thanks. Earlier at 3.45 pm a Thanksgiving Mass was held at St Sebastian Church, Bendur. After the formal programme, cultural programmes followed. Brass band, Konkani Anarkali Dance, Mr World Raymond’s bodybuilding show, housie-housie entertained the gathering.
