Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (PS/VA)

Mangalore, Aug 17: Bajpe Royals, a fraternity of Royal Enfield Bullet riders celebrated Independence Day in a unique way by going on a ‘Freedom Ride’ to various places in the outskirts of the city like Kavoor, Permude on Monday August 15.

In all, 35 Royal Enfield bikers started their ride motoring along the street before winding up at the Bajpe Church Ground.

The bikes that took part in the rally included Royal Enfield and vintage models. The community of people who own a Royal Enfield motorcycle, a bike that has attracted a small but fiercely loyal customer base for over half a century thrilled by riding their bikes together on the road.

This provided a platform for `Bullet' riders, from different walks of life to come together and share their experiences both technical as well as general tips.

The ride was flagged off by Sahul Hameed, president, Bajpe Panchayat and Rithesh Shetty, member, Zilla Panchayat. Shrikanth Kotian, Nithin Shetty, Harris Madani and Gurudas among others were present on the occasion.

If the rider wears an helmet, he won't be recognized which is the very motive of these events in the first place. So much for safety and freedom.
