Mangalore : Rave Party - Police Under Pressure from Higher-ups?

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 18: The investigation into the rave party that activists of Bajrang Dal barged into early on Sunday August 14 is taking a new dimension now.

The police are reportedly under pressure from powerful quarters to hush-up the case, it is learnt. At the same time, they are finding it hard to handle the pressure as cases have already been registered under non-bailable offences against some of the activists.

On the other hand, the locals who had in the past given written complaints to the policemen to act against illegal late night parties at the Maharani farm house where the rave party was going on, have been alleging that police inaction had allowed illegal things to continue at this venue.

Meanwhile, commissioner of police Seemant Kumar Singh said that it was unusual for Bajrang Dal convener Sharan Pumpwell, the main accused who has been absconding, to remain untraced for so many days. Normally, police are able to trace missing persons on the basis of their mobile phone records, as it gives indication about their location.

But some reports in the media suggest that Pumpwell was reachable over the phone and could be contacted.

It appears that Mangalore has two types of Police Departments !

Sharan Pumpwell said to be an illiterate, rowdy, instrumental in disturbing peace in a civilised society visited recently commissioner,s office (according to daijiworld) complaining about drug menace.

Why this anti social element was not arrested on the spot ?

We need another "Anna Hazare" to agitate against moral corruption !

It is strange that police are taking lot of time in investigation. What a Shame! If political parties are involved in a crime then none can fight against them.

If Bajrangdal used peaceful means and tried their best to stop all anti social and illegal activities in Mangalore our city would be real "Rama Rajya". Can they stop corruption in govt. offices? Can they stop immoral activities in Mangalore? Can they stop underworld activities in Mangalore? Can they attack corrupt politicians? Why are they very very ive in thier activities???

Bajrang Dal and Mangalore Police are two sides of the same coin.
One is Moral Police and the other Immoral Police.

BD attacks only 2 categories and show them fear, beat and blackmail them, only for money sake. i.e.

    1) Raiding young girls and boys
    2) Beef

Has anyone ever heard them attacking anyone else, like robbers, bribe taking officers etc. etc. because they themselves are thieves and gundas. They want easy money and not to work. Police are also scared of BD or may be bribed (getting hafta) by them.

Why police are soft on Bhajrang goons? Why they were too strict on protesters of church attack? Innocent youth are still working hard to get out of the case inspite of repeated assurance of CM's!! This is total partiality by BJP rulers and supported by police? Bottom line is...BJP and its supporters can get away with everything!! Jokers are supporting Anna Move!!

    A bit confused here.

One example is do we allow these rave parties to be held or should we stop the kind of action these bajrang dal goons have done because of the police inaction previously against these kind of rave parties even after many complaints?

The other example is now what is happening in India with Anna Hazare fighting against the Indian Constitution because the law makers could not do anything about corruption when they were given all the power by the people to curb corruption.

Do you guys see the similarity in these two examples.

This incident is a result of social and economic inequality caused by corruption and misuse of power by politically influencial people. What the Bajarang Dal youths have done is definetly wrong but it is out of sheer frustration and helplessness.

Public should rise and should not allow the shameful act of Bajrang Dal to dilute. Take the help of Lokpal if the politicians are pressurising the police higher ups with RSS highhandedness. The Hindutvas and BJP Politicians putting pressure on police to protect the organised crime committed by the goondas of Bajrang Dal too is highly condemnable corrupt practice by the party to it.

Rule should be above any party or affiliation. This is precisely what Anna Hazare is fighting. Corruption include abuse of power also.

Many times police has to act under the pressure from the political party. File cases against all 30 plus goondas who have damaged the property of the farm and the youngsters who were enjoying the party of their own money. They have even robbed money, mobile and gold ornaments belonging to the youngsters.
Jealousy is one of the cause of this type of vandalism.
