Mangaluru: City resident swindled of Rs 75 lac by onion trader from Solapur

Mangaluru, Oct 3: A case has been registered at the East Police Station in Mangaluru, where a city native has alleged that he was conned out of Rs 75 lac by an onion trader from Solapur.

The accused, Kundalik Jumbar Khandagale, is the owner of Siddeshwara Traders in Solapur, Maharashtra. The complainant and victim in this case is Abdul Rahiman Bawa from Mangaluru.

The two individuals first met in January 2021 through agricultural produce trading, as Kundalik had an onion trading business in both Chennai and Mangaluru. Over time, they became close friends.

Subsequently, Kundalik came to Mangaluru with the intention of deceitfully convincing Abdul Rahiman that there was a lucrative investment opportunity. He managed to persuade Abdul Rahiman to transfer an amount of Rs 75 lac to the account of Siddeshwara Traders, which is owned by Kundalik.

The CEN police are currently conducting further investigations into this matter.

    Very bad.One shouldnt swindle for such a big amount .Victim must have been a really honest man believing traders.I am sure deciever will get his punishment one day or other four times back.Be honest in trade or daily life .How he could believe and handover money in such a big amount.Now he must be looking for a new opfer somewhere.Hope victim gets atleast half of the amount .

    Only a very greedy person or fool would handover such a big amount in advance; it's possible that the victim has lots of spare money! IMHO, this should be taken as a NPA by the victim as the court case will run for another 50 years, but still will not yield any positive results!

    Kottava kodangi... Eeskondava Eerbadra.... Once the money is transferred recovery in full is but a remote chance... Rogue trader would be ready for a prescribed jail term.... Saiber will be lucky if at least part of the money can be recovered...
