Rave Party: DYFI Wants Police Commissioner to Take Action Against Bajrang Dal

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 25: A delegation of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) met city police commissioner, Seemant Kumar Singh here on Wednesday August 24 and handed over a memorandum in connection with the rave party that alleged Bajrang Dal activists had attacked and vandalised in Ullal a few days ago.

Through the memorandum, DYFI has alleged that the raiding gang had robbed cash and jewellery from the spot, and urged the police to arrest the culprits and take stern action against them.

“A small section of the society has been taking up law into its hand in the guise of conserving moral values. These gangs openly indulge in criminal activities and incite the feelings of some sections of the society. They also escape from legal action by using political clout and muscle power,” the memorandum explains.

Reminding the police that organizations like Bajrang Dal have given rise to a number of incidents of communal violence and frictions in the past through their moral policing activities, DYFI has asked the police to wake up to the seriousness of the situation and act fact. “Because of timely action of the police, such incidents had become less in recent times. Acts of organizations following principles of religious intolerance have been creating trouble once again. There is an immediate need to rein in such activities,” the memorandum explains.

DYFI has demanded for the arrest of Sharan Pumpwell and other Bajrang Dal activists indulging in such raids, and initiation of strictest possible steps against them. It said that such an action will give a warning signal to other religious fundamentalist organizations which take law into their hands. The delegation comprised DYFI district president, Munir Katipalla, district secretary, Dayanand Shetty, leaders, Mahabala Deppalimar, B K Imtiaz, Santosh Bajal, and others.

    Any organization, especially a
    youth organization which will bring
    peace-happiness-cleanliness and
service to the society must be
promoted. But, any organization holding batons and interfering with the
personal lives and peace of other
    people must be strictly prohibited.
When such organizations are promoted, many similar organizations representing various political parties and religious background will grow side by side which will lead to more fight and bloodshed. If the youths are
organized to hold brooms and clean the cities, we must promote them with open hands by supplying them with cold drinks and food.

The police to take action against DFYI leader not bajrang dal activities, they did good job in mangalore & its good lesson for students too. Parents are sending their childerns for study not for rave party! I honestly support for bajraj dal for their good work.

It was a welcome move by the DYFI headed by Munir Katipalla. The minorities of this region are well educated and to an extent well off. They should not take it laying down instead take legal action against all party involved including the Govt authorities and our elected political leaders in the minority cell.
    God Bless and Jai Hind!

This will increase more agitation between DYFI & BD in future. Better, now itself call both parties together for peaceful dialogue.

I agree with Prakash. I strongly support action against BD but at the same time action should be taken against those who have violated the party guidlines set by the rule book. I have questions like, what should be party timings, sources and suppliers of drugs that are reportedly used, drink and drive party members, and most importantly the club owner who gave a blind eye to the entire episode till the BD broke in..

Good move. But why only BD? What about those who were doing illegal activities? What about Club owners? Allowed club to operate till 2.00 AM??

I doubt people involved partying are students and they are not from mangalore. DYFI/Police should send a strong message to those students that they dont have right to spoil the name of Managalore. Otherwise there would be BD2 sending same message.

Why Only BD? Everybody should be treated equally.
