Shimla, Aug 27: Anna Hazare, who is on the 12th day of his fast against corruption, has received 'mighty' support from none other than well-known World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champ Khali the Great.
It is heartening to see Anna Hazare getitng support from all quarters, and though no big stars from Bollywood and cricket have personally come out in the open, many stars from south India, along with the lesser-known Bollywood brigade and others have joined the Hazare bandwagon.
Khali while extending his support in a statement, diplomatically said that he was not against any political outfit, but he wants to support Anna as he is fasting for a cause.
"I am against corruption, it should be routed out from the country," he declared.
Khali has a huge fan following in India and abroad, specially among teenagers and youngsters interested in WWE and WWF.
Currently settled in the US, Khali feels that the current tussle between the government and Team Anna is a worry. He said that he was closely watching the developments in India on television.
Khali, who grew up in Dhirana village in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, some 200 kms from Shimla, said he himself had been a victim of corruption during his days of struggle.
Born in a poor family as Dalip Singh Rana, Khali initially worked as a labourer to earn his livelihood. He became a professional wrestler in October 2000.
