New Delhi, Aug 27: Following the tense situation prevailing since afternoon, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reportedly intervened in the issue of passing resolution in the parliament on the Jan Lokpal Bill, and now parliament sources have confirmed that the government has agreed to go for a voice vote, but it would be parliament's majority voice which will be considered finally.

The voice vote is expected to take place at around 8 pm this evening.

The crisis started once again this afternoon after Prashant Bushan, a Team Anna member who attacked the government for its refusal to pass the resolution in the parliament, and for ruling out voting. However, the government has assured that all three conditions put forward by Anna will be accepted through debate.

It is learnt that the government has said that the main opposition BJP was against passing the resolution and going for a vote.

Soon after the news spread about BJP's alleged reluctance for passing the resolution, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, L K Advani and other senior BJP leaders met Pranab Mukerjee and denied the statement, and tried to resolve the crisis arising out of the statement.

Later, realising the seriousness of the development, the Prime Minister himself intervened in the metter and discussed the issue with opposition leaders and agreed for a voice vote.

Team Anna has now officially agreed for the voice vote, and appreciated the government's step in this regard.

Once the voice vote is passed, Anna Hazare is expected to break his 12-day fast.
