Mumbai, Sep 6 (IANS): A benchmark index for Indian equities markets Tuesday, was trading weak in morning trade, amid negative cues from other Asian markets.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,663.73 points, was ruling at 16,667.15 points, down 46.18 points or 0.35 percent from its previous close at 16,713.33 points.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading in the red, 0.46 percent down at 4,994.15 points.
Broader markets were also lacklustre. The BSE midcap index was trading 0.22 percent up, while the BSE small cap index was trading flat.
