Udupi: Catholic Sabha holds training workshop for electoral officers

Udupi, Dec 11: "The responsibility of each election officer is important in selecting good and active office bearers for the development of the organization,” said Santosh Cornelio, president of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh.

He was speaking after inaugurating the training workshop of election officials for the selection of office bearers for 2024 for the 52 units of Catholic Udupi Pradesh at Anugraha diocesan pastoral centre near Ambagilu.

He said that the officers elected in the units should realize their responsibility and give clear guidance to lead the organization and it is the responsibility of the election officers to conduct the selection process of the officers in an impartial and transparent manner.

Ronald D'Almeida, central returning officer and president-elect, conducted the training. Around 60 representatives from 5 zones participated in the workshop and those who received the training and certificate will be eligible to conduct the election of office bearers of the units in the coming days.

Catholic Sabha Udupi region secretary Olivia D’Mello, treasurer Gerald Rodrigues, officers Solomon Karkala, president-elect Ronald Almeida, past presidents Alphonse D’Costa, Mary D'Souza, Alwyn Quadrous, Dr Gerald Pinto and Valerian Fernandes were present.
