Mangaluru: Mary Immaculate Convent (UMI )Bondel holds Christmas celebrations

Mangaluru, Dec 11: On December 10, Mary Immaculate Convent (UMI) Bondel hosted a Christmas get-together for religious priests, sisters, and brothers from Bondel Parish.

The programme commenced with seeking almighty blessings through prayer song by Betharram brothers. With a heartfelt Christmas greeting, the superior, Sr. Sucorin Rebello UMI, welcomed everyone to the event.

Love one another for love is of God, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. This was the Christmas message given by parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D'Souza. "Christmas is a feast of love, the self-emptying love of God who sent us His only-begotten Son so that we can share in His divine Sonship. God lives within us. We experience Jesus entering our hearts and dwelling within us when we accept Him as our Savior," he said. 

Fr Andrew expressed gratitude to everyone for their cooperation in the pastoral ministry of the parish and he anticipates the same for upcoming programmes, particularly the centenary year programmes.

Sr Sucorin and Fr Peter Gonsalves conducted games, cultural programme’s conducted by the candidates of UMI, Betharram and MSIJ Brothers. Fr Lancy D’Souza compered the programme, The official vote of thanks was given by Sr Laveena D'Silva.

The programme concluded with a high tea with home made Kuswar brought by different communities of Bondel parish. Everyone enjoyed their time together during this Christmas season.
