Bantwal, Dec 12: A youth, who went to swim in the stone quarry pond drowned at Kuddupadavu near Vittal in the taluk.

The deceased is identified as Kartik (24), a resident of Ukkuda Dharbe.

It is gathered that Kartik went to swim in the stone quarry near Kuddupadavu and drowned while swimming. The mortal remains were shifted to the mortuary of Vittal community health centre.
