Pejawar Swamiji 60th birth anniversary celebration held in Udupi

Udupi, Dec 16: On the occasion of 60th birth anniversary of Shri VIshwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji, ‘’Shastyabda Abhivandhana Sambhrama’ was held on December 16, 2023 at Car Street, Udupi.

Shri VIshwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji, Pejawar Math, after receiving the honour as part of the birth anniversary said, “My teacher has always taught me that flag flies high in the sky with the help of pole, but only flag is visible to people not the pole which support or helps the flag to fly high. My teacher has placed me in the top and I am in the top place only because of the public. Every work done by us is done by God because he is situated inside our body. Temple will remain as a temple only when Hindu’s remain as Hindu’s. Let us rename our children with meaningful names or else they will move out of the house and themselves change their name. The construction of Ram Mandir has increased our responsibility of protecting it."

Shri Vidyasagara Theertha Swamiji, Paryaya Shri Krishnapura Math, Krishna Math, Udupi, in his presidential note said, “Shri Shri VIshwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji’s 60th birth anniversary has been celebrated in many place, but celebrating it in Udupi is very special because Udupi is his origin. He has always indulged in social service activities. He dedicated his life for the welfare of the public. I wish him a long life and more and more opportunities to work for people.”

Shri Vidyavallabha Theertha swamiji, Kaniyooru Math, on the occasion said, “We can see all different kinds of qualities in Pejawar Swamiji equal to Lord Hanuman. He is the most daring person. He always stayed strong in any difficult situation. I feel surprised whether he is a 10-year-old boy or a 60-year-old man by looking at his stamina. He has completely dedicated his life for the welfare of people.”

Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji, Palimaru Math, in his note said, “In the procession, Rama sat in the chariot in the form of Pejawar Swamiji and this Abhinanda is performed by Lord Krishna. Rama is situated in the heart of Pejawar Swamiji. He was born in ‘Pakshikere’ place because he loves Pakshi (bird) and Kere (Lake). He has always been with people in their difficulties. Boat has been gifted to him, which signifies that people are having a lot of problems in their life and they want him to help them in crossing those difficulties, as the boat helps in crossing the river. He has a lot of different thoughts in his mind and those thoughts are beautiful.”

Gurme Suresh Shetty, MLA of Kaup expressed his happiness and said, “The happiest moment in my life was when Pejawar Swamiji became the trustee of Rama Mandir Trust. He always dedicated his life to public welfare and always guided people when they made any mistakes.”

Procession from Jodukatte Udupi to Car Street, Udupi, by carrying Pejawar Swamiji on the chariot along with different cultural tableaus was also held.

All guests and others offered Svarna Abhisheka and Pushpa Abhisheka to Pejavara Swamiji. Swamiji was gifted with a boat, a photo frame of Madvacharya carrying Krishna and Lord Hanuman painting.

On the occasion an application was released with an aim to help creating ‘Rama Rajya’. To commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of swamiji Rs 5 lac each was donated to two poor families for constructing house, wheelchair to one specially-abled woman and stitching machine to three women were also distributed.

The programme began with the Vedha Ghosha from students of Sanskrit College, Udupi. The event was blessed by lighting the lamp by Swamiji’s and guests.

Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, welcomed the gathering.

Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC, K Raghupati Bhat, former MLA, Nagaraj Ballal, president of Vidyodaya Trust, Dayanandh K Suvarna president of Fishermen Association, Malpe, Ajay Shetty, Ujwal Developers, Vidwan Gopal Joyis Ivarthur, secretary, SMSP Maha Sabha, Udupi, Lalaji R Mendon, former MLA and others were present.
