Sauharda Christmas held in Kundapur

Kundapur, Dec 18: Holy Rosary Church parish priest Fr Stany Tavro said, “Jesus Christ, who had a simple personality by living as a common man, preached about friendship to each other.”

He was speaking while inaugurating a Sauharda Christmas celebration organized under the auspices of Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Catholic Sabha Zonal Committee - Shevot Foundation Kundapur, Holy Rosary Church, Kundapur unit at Holy Rosary school grounds on Sunday December 17.

He further said, “On December 25, we celebrate Christmas. It is a matter of happiness that Sauharda Christmas has come to spread the friendship and coexistence of Jesus Christ, who was born 2000 years ago. He wished peace and harmony all over the world.”

Lecturer Sujendra Hande delivered the message of cordial Christmas celebration and said, “If we do not remember those who worked hard for the good of this world and if we do not follow the ideals set by them, our lives will be incomplete.”

On this occasion, Chaitanya Social School headmistress B Leelavati Karkada and ASHA worker Kalpana Prabhakara of, Gangolli Primary Health Center was specially honoured.

Wilson D'Almeida, zonal president of Kundapur Catholic Sabha, presided over the programme. Sauharda Christmas programme organizer Johnson D'Almeida, Kundapur Catholic Sabha zonal secretary Gravin Pasann, east president Shanti Pereira, and Kundapur Shevot Foundation president Vinod Crasto were present.

Dr Soni D'Costa compered the programme, Kundapura unit president Shaila Almeida welcomed. Cultural programmes were held.
