Udupi: Lakshmi Hebbalkar visits Anganwadi centre in Kadiyali

Udupi, Jun 12: Lakshmi Hebbalkar, the Minister for Women and Child Development, Empowerment of the Disabled and Senior Citizens, and in-charge of the district administration, visited the Anganwadi centre in Kadiyali on June 12.

During her visit, Hebbalkar inspected the surroundings of the Anganwadi, including the children's classroom, kitchen, and record rooms. She emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the premises, where workers and assistants operate.

Addressing the issue of waterborne diseases, she said, "Due to recent rain, there is a possibility of breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Caution needs to be taken to prevent diseases like dengue, which can be caused by mosquito bites."

Hebbalkar also examined the play materials provided to the children and listened to them recite rhymes.

Dr K Vidyakumari, DC, Pratheek Bayal, CEO of Zilla Panchayat, Dr Arun K, SP, Shyamala, deputy director of the Women and Child Development Department, and others were present on the occasion.
