Byndoor: Police intercept, seize vehicle carrying cattle; two flee from scene

Byndoor, Jun 18: Byndoor police have apprehended and seized a vehicle allegedly carrying cattle illegally.

Two suspects fled the scene when police intercepted the vehicle near Shiroor around 9:30 pm on June 17, Monday, in the night.

According to witnesses, during a routine vehicle inspection near Lower Padukere in Shiroor, the police attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver initially tried to escape but was later caught along with another person who was inside the vehicle.

Upon inspection, police found a case of violent crime inside the vehicle's rear compartment, where hands and feet of a cow were bound tightly with a yellow nylon rope. The cattle was estimated to cost around Rs 10,000 and was being transported illegally.

The police have seized the vehicle valued at Rs 3 lac and have filed the necessary documentation regarding the incident.
