Kundapur, Jul 1: "Students of our state are being subjected to injustice due to the NEET scam. It is evident that this year’s NEET question paper was leaked, as 67 students scored the maximum 720 out of 720 marks. Most of these top scorers are from North India, jeopardizing the future of other students. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who failed to handle this examination, should resign," said NSUI district president Saurabh Ballal.
Ballal made these remarks during a large protest rally organized by Kundapur Block Congress and NSUI at Shastri Circle in the city.
Ballal further stated, "Despite the clear evidence of the NEET question paper leak, the BJP MP and MLAs from this area have remained silent. They are not speaking out against the injustice done to the students. The MP of Udupi-Chikkamagalur Lok Sabha constituency must raise his voice on this issue. If he remains silent, we will protest in front of his house."
Congress leader Dinesh Hegde Molahalli said, "Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign, taking moral responsibility for the NEET scam. Since 2014, only one or two students have scored 720 marks, but this year, 17 students from Haryana have achieved the maximum marks. In total, 67 students have scored 720. It is clear that a high-level scam has occurred. The Congress will not tolerate such corruption. All students who have taken the exam honestly must receive justice."
District Congress president Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu also spoke on the occasion. Kundapur Block Congress president Hariprasad Shetty Kanmakki, Byndoor Block Congress president Aravinda Poojary, district Congress spokesperson Vikas Hegde, NSUI Kundapur Taluk president Sujan Shetty, Women Congress president Devaki Sannaiah, Ashok Poojary, Asha Carvalho, Chandrashekhara Kharvi, Prabhavathi Shetty, Sridhar Sheregar, NSUI members Purkhan Yasin, Aneesh Poojary, Swastik Shetty, Vivek, Kanishk Hegde, Skanda, Chandrakant, Sanjay Sheregar, Rohan Poojary, Vishwas, Sammi Mohammed, Bhargav, Sampath G. Shetty, and Saurabh Shetty were present.
Block Congress chief secretary Vinod Crasto welcomed the gathering and gave the introductory speech. A symbolic road blockade was also held.
