Deepika Padukone to Promote Sports at 2012 London Olympics

Mumbai, Nov 7: Bollywood's very own actress Deepika Padukone has been approached to be the face of a motivational campaign for the coming up London Olympics 2012 to boost up the spirit of the young generation to take part in sports.

Speaking to the media about the campaign, Deepika says, "My first love continues to be sports and I would love to do any campaign that encourages people to take up sports in our country."

Being the daughter of veteran Badminton player Prakash Padukone, Deepika herself has been into sports as a state level badminton player who later chose a career in acting.

An official spokesperson from the Sports Department Corporation,which is promoting Olympics, confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, she has been approached. In all meetings, the board has been saying that she is the only one they would like do it because she has a very strong bond with sports".

Buzz is that the actress has also been approached to be the face of badminton in India.

    Glamour and merit both she has aplenty for publicity stunt for the run-up of 2012 London Olympics. It is a Right move on the part of Sports Department Corporation.
