Udupi: Traffic diversion on Malpe road due to road widening

Udupi, Aug 5: In a bid to ensure smooth traffic management, changes in the traffic routes connected to Malpe Port and Malpe Junction will be implemented on a trial basis from August 15 to October 15 for a period of two months, as ordered by District Collector Dr. K. Vidya Kumari.

All ice-loaded vehicles, water tankers, insulated vehicles, light and heavy vehicles related to fish transportation, and tourist vehicles coming from Citizen Circle must turn right at Malpe Junction, proceed via Raj Fish Mill Cross, Kola, and Hanuman Nagar, and enter through the gate near Cochin Shipyard.

This notification has been issued by exercising the powers conferred under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Rule 221 5(a) of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, according to a release from the District Collector's office.
