Kundapur: Primary school teachers plan protest in Bengaluru on Aug 12 over 2017 recruitment rules

Kundapur, Aug 5: In a significant move, primary school teachers are set to stage a large-scale protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on August 12, demanding justice over grievances related to the 2017 cadre and recruitment rules.

The Karnataka State Primary School Teachers' Association’s Kundapur Taluk Unit has ramped up their efforts by submitting formal petitions to key officials.

The association delivered detailed petitions to Tahsildar Shobhalakshmi and District Education Officer’s representative Rekha outlining the severe issues faced by teachers under the current regulations. The documents were aimed at drawing attention to the longstanding problems and seeking urgent redress.

Key figures involved in the preparations for the protest included:

  • Ganesh Kumar Shetty, President of the Teachers' Association
  • Ram Mogaveera, General Secretary
  • Srinath G. Poojari, Treasurer
  • Sujata Shetty, Honorary President
  • Shashidhar Shetty, Vice President
  • Satish H. R., Assistant Secretary
  • Yashoda, District Representative

Also present were prominent members such as Usha, Devanayak Ashok Holla, office supervisor Mallika, resource person Santosh Kumar Shetty, B.I.E.R.T Shankar Kulal, cluster resource person Nagaraj Acharya, along with over 50 teachers from the Kundapur area.

The upcoming protest aims to address and rectify the perceived injustices and inequities imposed by the 2017 rules, amplifying the teachers’ demands for fair treatment and a revision of policies affecting their professional and personal well-being.
