Udupi, Aug 17: "Vishwaguru is trying to destabilise the elected government of Karnataka state," accused Vinay Kumar Sorake, KPCC campaign committee president in Udupi.

Addressing the media at the Congress office in Udupi, Vinay Kumar Sorake accused the NDA government of attempting to destabilize the state government led by chief minister Siddaramaiah. He claimed that efforts were being made to malign the Congress government, particularly targeting CM Siddaramaiah, saying he is a leader from the backward communities.

Reflecting on his four decades in politics, Sorake said, "In my 40 years in Congress, I have never seen CM Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi. I have witnessed many chief ministers, such as Yediyurappa, and the role of Shobha Karandlaje, and during Kumaraswamy's term, his wife also held ministerial positions."

On recent controversies involving land transactions, Sorake asserted that all dealings were conducted legally and backed by court orders. He dismissed claims about Sunil Shetty’s involvement, noting, “Sunil Shetty himself mentioned that he never submitted any letter to the governor. Then, what was the reason behind the protests from Bengaluru to Mysuru? Why is there no protest against the Parashurama theme park?”

Sorake expressed confidence in the judiciary, asserting, “The people of Karnataka are with him, and so are the ministers. If justice is denied, we will protest in a way that the entire nation will witness.”
