Udupi: Bharatanatyam artiste Dr Vasundhara Doraswamy to present performance on Kittur Rani Chennamma

Udupi, Aug 21: The Cultural Coordination Committee of Manipal Academy of Higher Education is hosting a thematic dance presentation by internationally acclaimed danseuse Dr Vasundhara Doraswamy on Thursday, August 22 at 6.30 PM at the third floor, Dr T M A Pai Halls, KMC Manipal.

Dr Vasundhara will present the story of freedom fighter Kittur Rani Chennamma skillfully blending her expertise in dance, drama, Yoga and martial arts techniques. Dr Jyothi Shankar has penned the lyrics. Vidvan D S Shrivatsa has composed the music.

Dr Vasundhara is the founder director of Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre at Mysuru. A globe trotter with performances and teaching all round the year, Dr Vasundhara has been curating national level Art festivals for the past four decades in the culturally rich princely city of Mysuru.

Apart from classical Bharatanatyam repertoire, Dr Vasundhara has choreographed and staged several dance dramas and solo thematic dance dramas depicting the female characters from Puranas.
The programme will start on time. Audience is requested to be seated by 6.15 PM. Entry is free for all.
