Mangaluru: Lions Club to conduct STEM Talent Contest on Sep 1

Mangaluru, Aug 22: In order to encourage and motivate young students in and around Mangaluru in STEM subjects, the Lions Club Mangalore Ladyhill is organizing a STEM Talent Contest for Grade 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 students on Sunday, September 1.

The STEM Talent Contest conducted by Lions Club has been running for over 13 years now. Besides the opportunity to put their STEM knowledge and skills to test, the contest will inspire and teach students the relevance of their learning, as well as the importance of understanding concepts.

Lions Club has been instrumental in conducting various mentoring and guidance sessions for students and parents to create awareness about the plethora of STEM options available in various top Institutions in the country after Grade 12. The STEM Talent Contest is one such initiative to prepare students for a digital future by creating awareness regarding the importance of STEM, getting into the top colleges in the country and the positive future that these subjects have.

The contest is a long-standing favourite for students in and around Mangaluru and is a great chance for them to put their practical skills to test. The question paper for the contest is based entirely on the school syllabus/board portions. However, the questions would not only test the students’ interest in the subjects but will assess their understanding and practical approach to the concepts.
