Byndoor, Sep 13: The Byndoor division of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) kicked off its membership drive on Wednesday morning at the Shri Puranik Sabha Bhavan in Kollur.

Inaugurating the campaign, Shivamogga MP B Y Raghavendra expressed his commitment to prioritizing the Byndoor Assembly constituency, which contributed significantly to his victory in the Lok Sabha elections. He acknowledged that despite the BJP not being in power in Karnataka, under the leadership of Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole, efforts are being made to ensure comprehensive development in the region. Key issues such as footbridges, drinking water supply, road improvements, streetlights, and agricultural irrigation are being addressed in stages. He also highlighted the ongoing construction of National Highway 766C from Byndoor to Ranebennur, which will enhance connectivity with Shivamogga.

Raghavendra encouraged everyone to join the BJP, calling it the world's largest national party, and emphasized the importance of the membership drive, now being held for the third time.

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole, speaking at the event, shared that leaders have been appointed for eight key centers within the Byndoor division, and 25 page-pramukhs (influential members) have been selected at each booth level. He stressed the importance of focusing not only on social service but also on strengthening the party’s organization, reaffirming that public service is the core objective of the BJP.

Membership drive co-coordinator Priyadarshini provided detailed information about the campaign, while Anand Karvi and others were present at the event.

Byndoor Mandal president Deepak Kumar Shetty delivered the introductory address, and Byndoor Mandal general secretary Mahendra Poojari welcomed and concluded the programme.
