Ballari, Sep 12: In a dramatic twist, jailed Kannada film superstar Darshan has demanded the removal of a malfunctioning TV set from his prison cell at Ballari Central Jail.

The actor, currently held in connection with the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case, has expressed his frustration over the TV’s persistent technical problems.

Darshan, who was transferred to Ballari Central Jail 14 days ago, had been granted permission to have a television in his cell. However, the TV has been plagued by frequent shutdowns and blurry images. Despite several repair requests, the issues remain unresolved.

When jail authorities informed Darshan that no alternative TV was available, his patience ran out. He has now demanded, “Remove the defective TV set from my cell. I no longer want it.”

This bold demand has added a new layer of drama to Darshan's ongoing legal saga and has garnered significant media attention. The incident has been confirmed by sources and reported in a section of the media.
