Udupi, Sep 13: “Rahul Gandhi has ties with naxalites, terrorists and conversion powers,” said Hari Prakash Konemane, spokesperson BJP.
Hari Prakash Konemane, addressing the media in the press meet held on September 13, made allegations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said, “Rahul Gandhi has consistently acted against the Indian Constitution and democracy. The statements given by him on international platforms, particularly during a recent press meet in the United States were at odds with the criticisms levelled by Congress against the ruling BJP.”
Addressing the issue of reservations in India, Hari Prakash cited Gandhi’s comments suggesting the possibility of freezing reservations if Congress comes to power. He referred to Nehru's past disapproval of reservations, emphasizing that Gandhi’s international remarks on this matter were controversial. The BJP has vowed to oppose any such moves and plans to hold nationwide protests in support of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
Hariprakash further criticized Congress for not taking action against those involved in shouting pro-Pakistan slogans in the Vidhana Soudha, despite the acceptance of the FS report. He also condemned Congress’s stance on Article 370, asserting that its removal from Kashmir has led to a more stable environment and denouncing any potential reinstatement. “Congress said, if we again come to power, we will bring back Article 370. We condemn this. The Congress party, which came to power by giving false promises to the people, is now giving up the power,” he said.
Hariprakash, stating about the recent incident in Mandya said, “Since the congress came to power, we have seen the Pakistan flag flying everywhere. Even last year a hormonal dispute took place in Nagamangala. I condemn the statement of the state home minister about this being a small incident. The Muslim conversions are deciding the route of the Ganesh procession, where we are in Pakistan or India. BJP will join hands in the protest against this by various organizations. The riot victims, the shop owner who suffered damage must be compensated and the criminals must be arrested.”
Speaking about the withdrawal of awards to teachers in Kundapur by the state government, criticized the current state government, suggesting it is controlled by external forces like BFI and ISI, and expressing scepticism about any positive outcomes under the leadership of Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar.
The press meet was attended by president Udupi District BJP Kishore Kumar Kundapur, Vishwanath, district media convener Shrinidhi Hegde, district spokesperson Sathish Shetty, general secretary Reshma Uday Shetty, State media committee member Ratan Poojary, district spokesperson Vijay Kumar, Sathish Shetty, Girish Anchan, secretary Shivakumar Ambalpady, Rajesh Kaveri, Geetanjali Suvarna and others.
