Beltangady: All-religion Meet Focuses on Harmonious Co-existence

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Nov 24: Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade defined religion as one which preaches the ideology of living together harmoniously. “People who have realized this ultimate truth and installed the Lord in their hearts can only be called as religious persons, not the ones who practice hypocrisy and observe practices just to show off their religious identities," he commented.

Delivering the introductory address at the all-religion meet held at Dharmasthala on Wednesday November 23, organized as part of the annual Lakshadeepotsava there, he expressed the desire that people who follow different principles and policies, and practice different religions, should come  together, cogitate about the principles preached by their forefathers, and come to the conclusion that people of India need to be conscious of  their responsibilities as Indian citizens, and know their duties of practicing nationalism. He said that such a step will enable people to control the competitive world of the modern era and lead it towards universal peace.

Expressing his stance against practices of black magic like sacrifice of animals and other practices of witchcraft, which he said people normally follow when in distress, he added that no such procedures are allowed in Dharmasthala. He said the devotees are being guided to lead in a path of devotion that is devoid of such practices at Dharmasthala.

Former ISRO chairman, Dr G Madhavan Nair, inaugurated the meet. He expressed concerns about the depletion of values and opined that value-based education alone can imbibe human values among the youth and teach them to follow humanitarian values and practice universal brotherhood.

MP, Maneka Gandhi, who presided over the meet, urged the government to ban all kinds of animal slaughter including cows, to protect animals from the verge of extinction.

D Surendra Kumar read out the citation of the inaugurator, while Dr B Yashovarma read out the citation of the president.

Dr Balasaheb Lokapur from Bagalkot, in his address, said that violence and religion can never go hand in hand. If violence happens, we can safely conclude those involved have strayed from thepath of righteousness, he concluded.

Moulvi Basheer Ahmed Umri from Bijapur hailed Hinduism as a universal religion. While reminding people that everyone is created by the Almighty and all are equal, he reiterated that Islam as a religion preaches peace.

Prof Judith Pinto from Mangalore also stressed the need for the people to find helplessness in every person and live in harmony with one another.

Dr Devaraj, principal of SDM College Mangalore, proposed vote of thanks. Dr B P Sampt Kumar and Dr B A Kumar Hegde presented the programme.

I agree we need more of personalities like Virendra Hegde. Some times it is not practical to be so generous when other religoins want to take advantage of generousness and kindness of people like Dr. Viremdra Hegde. Remember, there is cruel world out there.

Immeasurable efforts from Dr D.Verandara Hegde bring the communal harmony in our society, even constantly communal elements are trying & encouraging to tag with them. We should appreciate his vision for rural development in the way of Peacekeeping within the religion, Education, Employment & healthcare this what required for healthy society to take development. Politician must learn from him to take such a vision what he implemented in the region.
And I surprising why MP, Maneka Gandhi, who, urged the government to ban animal slaughter including cows (targeting to particular community) in All-religion meet and her personality not go well with this like communal harmony because her son Varun Gandhi constantly targeting speech to minority and this kind of personality nothing will do for communal harmony in the society.

The mentality of Daiji readers of a particular community remains exposed here. Yesterday there were calls to 'unite and fight for Hinduism' but today there is no call to 'support Dr. V. Heggade'.

This shows to what extent the saffron brigade has succeeded in preaching hatred towards other communities. This shows who is more popular - VHP/RSS/BD or Dr. Heggade.

IN DHARMASTALA ALL RELIGIONS MEETING AND IN MANGALORE "ONLY ONE RELIGION" MEETING. BOTH MEETINGS ARE CONDUCTED BY HINDUS. ONE IN DHARMASTHALA BY HIS HOLINESS VIREENDRA HEGDE IS A NOBLE WORK HE IS MUCH KNOWN IN ALL INDIA AND IN THE WHOLE WORLD FOR UNITY, HARMONY, PEACE, CHARITY, AN EDUCATIONIST AND A PHILANTROPIST ONE CONDUCTED IN MANGALORE IS BY A GROUP OF NARROW MINDED PEOPLE LIKE THE ONE WHO GAVE A USELESS SPEECH 'BHAT'.

THIS GROUP IS KNOWN FOR VIOLENCE, HATRED, INTOLERANCE AND FANATIC KNOWN ALL OVER INDIA AND ABROAD FOR ALL KINDS OF BAD AND WORSE THINGS. SO, NO ONE CAN CONDEMN ANY RELIGION. IN ANY RELIGION THERE ARE VERY GOOD PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR PEACE, JUSTICE AND LOVE OF HUMANITY. THERE ARE ALSO VERY BAD PEOPLE WHO WORK ONLY FOR POWER THROUGH BAD MEANS OF SPREADING TERROR, DEMOLISHING HOLY PLACES AND CREATE DISHARMONY. JAI HOO.

If only our political leaders especially the BJP had a secular mind and thinking like our great Dr Heggade. Our state would have been a "Rama Rajya" without any attacks on the minorities and hatred between religions. Just compare Dr Heggade with Advani and Modi, they are just the extreme opposites.

I salute Dr. Veerendra Heggade - may you succeed in your ventures.

This is what religion is - no matter Hindu/Christina/Islam. This should be a them of every religion not what happened in Nehru Maidan on the same date as this. Sow peace and reap love for each other not sow disharmony and reap hatred.
