Mumbai, Nov 26: Bollywood queen Kareena Kapoor has a reason to be happy. In an online survey on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, she has been voted as the sexiest Asian woman in the world.
The survey was conducted by Eastern Eye, a weekly. Last year it was Katrina Kaif who had taken the crown. Katrina came a close second this time, losing by just one percent of votes.
Asian women from across the world were in competition, including well-known popstars, TV personalities, models and film stars. Katrina had been winning the title for the last three years.
Kareena has been having a great time at the box office too, with hits like Bodyguard and Ra.One.
Eastern Eye showbiz editor Asjad Nazir said, "This battle between the two beauties is a sign of things to come in Bollywood in the next few years. The voting quite comprehensively showed that Kareena and Katrina have put a distance between themselves and the rest of the contenders in terms of popularity."
While Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu slipped by one place from last year, Freida Pinto came 5th, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan 6th, followed by Deepika Padukone (7) and Sonam Kapoor 9th, Lara Dutta at number 15 and Malaika Arora Khan at 19, among Bollywood stars.
New entries included Susanne Roshan, Jacqueline Fernandez (12), Nargis Fakhri (23) and Sonakshi Sinha (38).
