Five flights diverted due to severe weather in Goa

Panaji, Oct 10: Heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, disrupted air traffic at Goa's Dabolim International Airport, causing five flights to be diverted on Tuesday evening, according to a senior airport official.

The adverse weather conditions led to airport authorities rerouting the flights to alternative destinations in Hyderabad and Bengaluru for safety. Two flights were sent to Hyderabad, while three others were redirected to Bengaluru.

Normal operations resumed once the weather cleared, around 12:10 am on Wednesday. The diverted flights, consisting of one Vistara and four IndiGo aircraft, returned to Goa after the weather improved.
