Mangaluru: Children’s Day celebrated at Kulshekar Church Hall

Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 18: The two wards, Don Bosco I and Don Bosco II of Holy Cross Church Cordel, Kulshekar jointly celebrated Children’s Day at the Church Hall on November 17. The programme began with the children holding candles and marching onto the stage.

After invoking the blessings of God through a short prayer, the members of the two wards extended the greetings of the day by singing the song ‘We love you children from all our hearts’. This was followed by a lively dance by the children.

The star attraction of the day was the spectacular skit titled ‘Mobile kids - kids addicted to social media’. The play directed by Anthony D’Souza enthralled the audience and drove home the message of how present-day children are addicted to social media and are losing out on their studies, health, and life goals. It brought home the message that parents should be careful with their children abusing mobile phones and social media.

A lot of fun games were conducted for the children on this occasion. The fun-filled chit-chat between the duo Anthony and Alwyn left the audience in bone-tickling laughter throughout the event.

The programme was coordinated by the ward secretary Precilla Lobo. The fun games were conducted by Stella D’Souza. The programme was anchored by Trinita Siqueira. The Don Bosco 1 ward leader Remedius Fernandes welcomed the gathering. The Don Bosco II leader Lancy D’Souza rendered the vote of thanks.

The church parish priest Fr Clifford Fernandes, the assistant parish priest Fr Paul Sebastian D’Souza and Fr Vijay Monteiro were present on the occasion.
