Mangaluru: Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organizes ‘Makkala Mela’

Mangaluru, Nov 19: Dharma Jyothi Social Centre organized a ‘Makkala Mela’ on November 18 at Vidya Jyothi English Medium School Mantap, Vamanjoor.

Sr Marylit (SRA) superior queen of Apostles convent Vamanjoor, inaugurated the programme.

Dr Sr Ashalatha Crasta BMS SRA conducted an informative session on first aid, demonstrating treatments for common injuries and emergencies. Fr Paul D’Souza entertained the children through magic show. Volunteers from ICYM unit Vamanjoor conducted various games and activities. Vijay Kotian, the senior reporter of Vijaya Karnataka newspaper inspired the children with an address emphasizing the importance of leading a value-based life.

Director of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre Sr Joel Lasrado distributed the prizes to the winners and gifts to all the children. Total 340 children and 160 parents were present. The programme was concluded by playing water games which brought immense joy to the children.
