Udupi: Slain naxal leader Vikram Gowda’s body handed over to family

Udupi, Nov 20: The body of Naxal leader Vikram Gowda, killed in an encounter, was handed over to his family after a post-mortem conducted in the presence of the Karkala taluk magistrate. The procedure was completed early on Wednesday at 5 am at the Manipal mortuary.

The body was subsequently handed over to Gowda’s siblings, Suresh and Suguna, who have taken it to Kudlu village in Hebri. The cremation is expected to take place around 2 pm on Wednesday.

The family is conducting the final rites, and the encounter case has sparked widespread discussion across the district.
