Promo run ahead of Lombard Hospital Udupi Marathon 2024 held

Udupi, Nov 24: Promo run ahead of Lombar Hospital (LMH) Udupi Marathon 2024 was successfully held on November 24 in Lombard Memorial hospital premises in Udupi.

Dr Sushil Jathanna, director Lombard Memorial Hospital and Jayakar Shetty Indrali, president Badagubettu Credit Co-operative Society, flagged off the promo run.

The promo run was organized by Udupi Runners Club (R), in association with Lombard Memorial Hospital.

The promo run commenced at LMH, proceeding through taluk office, Mother of Sorrow Church, Clock tower and concluded at LMH. Around 100 participants ran a promo run of Lombard Hospital Udupi Marathon 2024.

On flagging off the promo run Dr Sushil Jathanna, emphasized the significance of physical activity stating, “Exercise is the best and free medicine which reduces heart diseases by 25 percent, stroke by 30 percent and diabetes by 24 percent. We must prioritize our lifestyle and ensure early detection of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and other conditions.”
The promo run, featuring around 100 participants, was flagged off with a lively performance by the Asha Nilaya band group. Rohi Ratnakar and Suja Karkada coordinated the event.

The marathon organized by Udupi Runners Club (R), in association with LMH as part of the hospital's 101st anniversary celebration, will be held on December 1. The marathon is expected to witness over 2000 participants.

CSI KSD Udupi area chairman Ivan D Soans, Udupi Runners Club president Dr Thilak, students of Lombard Memorial School of Nursing and Adarsh College of Nursing and Paramedical Science, members of the runners club, staff of Lombard Hospital, and others participated in the promo run.
