Bengaluru, Nov 28: Children must be encouraged to take part in outdoor activities as it will keep them more active and also boost their creative spirits, said K V Prabhakar, Chief Minister’s Media Advisor, on Thursday.
Speaking after inaugurating the Kalashri Selection Camp organised by the Bal Bhavan Society in Bengaluru, he said children would always like to take part in outdoor activities along with learning as otherwise they will be glued to television or mobile phones, which is harmful if it becomes an addictive habit.
Prabhakar felt the urban children lacked the necessary facilities to take part in outdoor activities except in their schools and also learn about nature and environment unlike their rural counterparts, who grow in village environment and learn activities like swimming at a younger age itself.
Bal Bhavan Society Chairman B R Naidu, Secretary Nischil and Administrator Vijayalakshmi were present.
