Udupi, Nov 28: Juliana Helen Rebello D'Souza, a resident of Bolar Gudde Kalayibail in Udyavara and the wife of senior Udyavara Gram Panchayat member Lawrence D'Souza, passed away early this morning at her residence due to health issues. She was 56 years old.

Juliana served as a teacher in several schools, including St Francis Xavier Higher Primary School in Udyavara and other schools across Karkala and nearby taluks. For the past several years, she was a teacher at the Main Government Higher Primary School in Bailur, Karkala. Known for her simplicity, she was a beloved teacher among students. She also served as the treasurer of the Lions Club in Udyavara and had won several medals in sports.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence D'Souza, who is the vice president of the St Francis Xavier Church parish council in Udyavara, a son, a daughter, the student community, and an extended family. The funeral rites will be held on Saturday at the Udyavara Church.
