Mangalore, Dec 20: The co-ordination committee and the action committee formed to fight for justice in connection with the mysterious death of Al Haj CM Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka (75), Qazi of Mangalore, protested against the report submitted by the CBI and demanded fresh inquiry. The protest was staged in front of the DC office on Tuesday December 20.

Prior to this, a silent procession was carried out from Dr Ambedkar Circle near Jyothi to the DC office, to submit a memorandum.

Qazi Al Haj Twaka Ahmed Musliyar, presiding over the protest meet, said that it is not a suicide as projected but incidental murder. “This was told clearly to the local police and to the CBI, but the investigative agency has termed it a suicide. When the dead body of Abdulla Musliyar was found, there were some injuries on the body. When the investigation was carried out, all these issues were neglected,” he rued. He added that they would not stop protesting till the truth comes out.

“Suicide is prohibited in Islam and Qazis are the people who lead the community. It is impossible for a Qazi to commit suicide,” said KS Mohammed, president, Muslim Central Committee.

“We will not stop the protest here until the concerned authorities come out with the right verdict and the hidden truth,” said Bashir Vellekoth.

On the dais, K Mummajn Sona, members of co-ordination committee K Asraf, Abdul Khadar, Haji S Abbas, and many other dignitaries were present. Mustafa Haji KM, president, Central Jumma Masjid, welcomed the gathering and Ibrahim Kodijal proposed the vote of thanks.

Al Haj C M Abdulla Musliyar Chembarikka (75), was found dead on the beach at Kasargod on February 15 under suspicious circumstances.

His body was found by fishermen on the seashore near Chembarikka, near his residence. He had served a number of mosques in Kasaragod and other places before taking charge as Qazi of Mangalore. In addition to serving as the Qazi of Mangalore, he had also served as the Qazi in Chembarikka.

It is a really sorry state of affairs when even murder investigations are given religious flavours. Guys for effs sake look at the photograps, I can see a lot of people beaming with 24 karat smiles which only says that they are rent-a mob kind of rage boys. The lesser said about the comments the better, one worthy tries to drag in the twin murder muslim women case. guys grow up and start believing in humanity instead of being boxed into narrowly defined religious sentiments

It is true that the guilty should be identified and punished but simply protesting and putting pressure will not help. People should provide all possible clues to the investigating agency. Even anonymous letters are most welcome. After all CBI are not supermen or divine people and they cannot make magic. Without any leads it is not only difficult but almost impossible to nab the culprits.

Shame on our country's justice system!!!  A person who is leading the community will never think of suicide.  CBI should honestly work on this case & victims should be penalised with proper charge, so that innocent Qazi should get justice, Insha Allah!

The death of CM Abdullah Musliyar Chambrika (Qazi)remained still a mystery even after CBI inquiry. It is also unlikely that an Qazi resorting for suicide for whatever reason.Due to the fact that two factions in Sunnis fueling mistrust and allegation among them towards the death of the Late qazi.In the light of difference of opinions among Sunnis and continuation of unrest among two factions in Undivided DK/Udupi and Kerala the case should be reopened and investigated inclusively and comprehensively.
