Mangalore, Dec 25: Chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda (DVS) who landed at Suratkal helipad here on Sunday December 25 countered a volley of questions from inquizitive media persons with his usual diplomatic and non-controversial manner.

DVS was here to inaugurate Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre and Srinivas Hospital at Mukka.

When asked by the media about the purpose of his recent visit to New Delhi to meet the BJP high command, he said that it was nothing special and part of the procedure to be followed after winning MLC election. He also said that he took part in the core committee meeting there, but refused to divulge details.

When reporters queried on whether BJP will think of reinstating Sriramulu back in the party, he declined to comment and said that he was not aware of any development in the matter and that the decision was left to the party.

On Yeddyurappa's statement that there could be only one leader and not collective leadership in BJP, the CM responded, "He made the statement, ask him and not me. However, I believe in collective leadership."

On the issue of drought as well as floods in various parts of the state, he said that a central team led by Vijaykumar visited seven or eight states across the country and found that compared to others, Karnataka had performed better in tackling the situation.

He also refused to comment on the issue of Lokyukta appointment in the state, and saying that the government has already recommended Bannurmath's name to the governor, and it is left to him to decide.

It was quite clear that the CM chooses to stay away from controversies, and weighs every word he says.
