Mangalore: New District Court Building to Open by Dec 2012 - Udasi

Though work on the new building of district court was delayed in the initial stages, it has accelerated over the last three years and the building is expected to be ready by December this year, said public works department minister C M Udasi here on Monday January 2.
 
He was in the city to inspect the new building of the district court and circuit house.

Speaking to media persons, he further said that Mini Vidhana Soudha in city will come up at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore. The second and third phases of work on this project will be initiated soon, he said.

"Also, the new building of the circuit house will be completed by this April at a coast of Rs 3 crore. The work on two court complexes in Moodbidri and Bantwal has started," he said.

"Under state highway development project 166.91 km state highway will be developed at the cost of Rs 50.9 crore. Roads in ST and SC colonies will be concreted at the cost of Rs 5 crore. Under NABARD-RIDF scheme 15 construction works will be taken up at the cost of Rs 10.37 crore."

He further added, "For the renovation work of Subrahmanya temple Rs 60 crore is the estimated cost. The first phase of work in this regard has already been initiated. By May this year the work will be completed. The second phase of work involves an estimated cost of Rs 60 crore and the tender for the same has been called."
 
On Shiradi Ghat road, the minister said that the central government has not released the promised sum. Hence the state government will take up the repair work at the cost Rs 6 crore.
