Mumbai: Karnataka Sangh Organizes ‘Children’s Festival’

Mumbai, Jan 6: The metro-based Karnataka Rajyotsav award recipient Karnataka Sangh organized a ‘Children’s Festival’ for the students of Kannada municipal schools, and private day and night schools across the metro at Vishveshwarayya auditorium, recently.

Havyaka Welfare Association bulletin ‘Havyaka Sandesha’ editor lawyer Amita Bhagavat inaugurated the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that it’s essential to encourage the students of Kannada medium schools to sustain Kannada in the metro.  Bhagvat also commended the efforts of Karnataka Sangh for its service in this regard.

Karnataka Sangh president Dr G D Joshi presided over the programme.

Honorary treasurer and story writer Omdas Kannangar delivered the introductory address. Executive committee member Sumangala Shetty welcomed the gathering.  Teacher Sanat Kumar Jain introduced the guests while poet Mariappa Natekar compered the programme.  Stage artiste Surendra Kumar Marnad proposed the vote of thanks.

Various competitions in drawing, story writing, devotional singing, one-act-play, group dance, and group singing were held for the students of primary, higher primary, and high school.
