Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 30: On January 30, St Agnes College organised an insightful session on "Career Path Explorations Based on Learning Digital Skills," conducted by Moona Moosa.

The event began with a prayer, led by students from the B.Com department. Prathik, the postgraduate president, welcomed the audience, introduced the topic, and acknowledged the principal in her absence.

Moona Moosa engaged the audience by asking about their career plans after post-graduation. She highlighted the lack of skills among job seekers as a major reason for unemployment in India, exacerbated by the country’s growing population.

She emphasised that the solution lies in acquiring the right skills to secure better job opportunities. She explained that "anyone can learn a skill," regardless of intelligence, and stressed the rising demand for digital skills such as digital media marketing, machine automation, and video editing, especially with the increase in content creation.

She also spoke about the benefits of digital literacy, which enhances job prospects, and discussed how freelancing can help students balance studies while earning. She warned about the impact of AI on jobs, emphasising the need to continuously upgrade skills. She introduced iDigitalPreneur, a platform offering various skill-based courses, and concluded by reinforcing that skills are the key to landing high-paying jobs.

The session ended with Aileen presenting Moona Moosa with a token of gratitude as a gesture of appreciation for her enriching session. The event was both informative and motivating, inspiring students to embrace digital skills for a successful career.
