Hong Kong, Feb 6: Hong Kong is set to welcome international cricket once again as it prepares to host the 2025 Cricket World Cup Challenge League B, marking the country's first multi-team ICC tournament in 14 years.
The last time Hong Kong hosted an ICC event was in 2011, when it successfully organized the ICC World Cricket League Division 3, where Hong Kong, China, clinched the title by defeating Papua New Guinea by four wickets in the final.

Scheduled to begin on February 6, the upcoming tournament will feature six teams, competing in a total of 15 matches. This competition is a crucial part of the qualification pathway for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China, expressed his excitement about hosting the tournament.
"We are immensely proud to host the 2025 Cricket World Cup Challenge League B. This event not only celebrates cricket but also highlights the global growth of the sport, bringing together teams from diverse backgrounds. We are eager to showcase our hospitality and passion for cricket to players and fans worldwide," he stated, as per the ICC website.
The tournament will feature Uganda, Bahrain, Singapore, Italy, Tanzania, and hosts Hong Kong, China, as they compete for a chance to progress in the World Cup qualification process.
Matches will be held at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground and Kowloon Cricket Club, with all games being broadcast live on ICC.tv.
