Talent Needs to be Nurtured at a Young Age: Sonu Niigaam

Mumbai, Jan 12 (IANS): Sonu Niigaam started singing at the age of three and he feels that if a child shows interest in any art form at a very tender age, he should be trained for it.

"If kids start following a particular art form at a young age, then it helps them. Even I have been singing ever since I was 3-and-half years old. This is the best time to learn something," the 38-year-old singer said here at the Lions Gold Award function where both he and his four-year-old son were honoured.

Sonu's son Neevan made headlines with his version of "Kolavari Di" recently.

"I have a video of his when he was eight-month-old. But he is very naughty, he also dances very well and is even good at playing cricket," said Sonu, who is known for songs like "Kal ho na ho", "Main hoon na", "Jashn-e-bahara", "Saathiya".

He has also sung "Abhi mujh mein kahin" and "Swapnil Pawar" for new version of "Agneepath", which releases Jan 26.
