Kundapur: MITK NSS unit organizes blood donation camp

Kundapur, Mar 5: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapur (MITK) NSS unit in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Lions Club Hangloor organized a blood donation camp recently, in the college auditorium.

The chief guest of the event Balakrishna Shetty, president Lions Club Zone, emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation.

Jayankar Shetty, president of Indian Red Cross Society, highlighted the need for regular blood donation and its role in saving lives.

Dr Melwin D’Souza, vice principal of MITK, in his presidential address encouraged the students to participate in such an event and highlighted the importance of social responsibility and community service.

The formal event followed by blood donation was conducted systematically by volunteers of NSS in association with the IRCS doctors team. More than 100 donors donated their blood.

Dr Saravanan, NSS co-coordinator welcomed the gathering and delivered the vote of thanks. Varsha, student compered the event.

The event was attended by Secretaries Lions Club Rohan D’Costa, Mathew D’Souza, Shivaran Shetty, treasurer Puranik, office bearers and students.
