Panaji, Mar 7: In a significant move towards labour welfare and employment generation, Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant held high-level discussions with Uttar Pradesh minister for labour, Anil Rajbhar. Goa’s labour & revenue minister Atanasio Monserrate and senior officials were also present at the meeting.
The talks focused on key welfare schemes implemented by the office of the commissioner of labour & employment, including programmes under the Goa Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (GBOCWWB) and the Goa Labour Welfare Board. The meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between Goa and Uttar Pradesh, given their shared workforce interests.

With Goa being a major tourist hub and Uttar Pradesh having a large labour force, the discussions are expected to pave the way for joint initiatives benefiting workers from both states. CM Dr Sawant, known for spearheading various developmental projects, sees this collaboration as a step forward in enhancing labour welfare and employment opportunities in Goa.
