New York, Mar 9: Renowned Indian cartoonist Shreyas Navare has unveiled a year-long, multi-city exhibition of his watercolor caricatures of past US Presidents, as America gears up for its 250th Independence anniversary in 2026.
Titled ‘Hail to the chiefs!’, the exhibition takes its name from the iconic presidential anthem and debuted in New York, where George Washington was inaugurated. It will travel across all 50 states and Washington, D C, offering a unique artistic take on American leadership.

Navare, who has closely followed US politics, aims to spark conversations on shared history and humanity. “Much like India, the United States thrives on ongoing societal dialogues in the pursuit of a more perfect union,” he said.
His previous exhibit, "America in cartoons: From Bill to Biden", showcased caricatures of five US Presidents. This new series expands on that legacy, bringing to life the essence of every American President through art and humour.
A former editorial cartoonist for a leading Indian media outlet, Navare has covered elections in India and the US. His work has been exhibited globally, with some pieces housed in the library of Congress, Washington, D C.
