Washington, Mar 14: Former US President Donald Trump has once again expressed his desire to annex Greenland, raising the issue during a meeting with NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg, according to media reports.
Trump, who previously proposed purchasing the Arctic island from Denmark during his presidency, reportedly reiterated his interest in acquiring Greenland, citing its strategic and economic significance. While the idea was dismissed as impractical and met with strong opposition in 2019, Trump’s latest remarks have reignited discussions on the matter.

Neither NATO nor US officials have officially commented on the reported statements, but Danish authorities have repeatedly made it clear that Greenland is not for sale. The remarks come at a time of heightened global tensions, with NATO focused on security challenges in Europe and beyond.
It remains to be seen whether Trump's renewed interest in Greenland is a serious policy proposal or a rhetorical move as he eyes a potential return to the White House.
